"Croatian Mountains" painting series

This is a series of Mountain paintings I started in the second half of 2017 and which where exhibited in the Lauba gallery in February 2018. In order to achieve a more personal aesthetics, I decided to do the paintings without using photo reference. Instead, I used a map to mark the most important peaks of that mountain, as well as on-location sketches from my hikes.

These paintings are the second part of the Mountain painting series, which are created in the technique of reverse glass painting – a technique traditionally used by Croatian naive painters from the village Hlebine.

ANIMAFEST 2018, poster design is OUT

I am very proud to announce that my design has been chosen for this years international festival of Animation: ANIMAFEST 2018, in Zagreb. Tnx for the whole Animafest people!!!

So now, with the help of my dear friends Luka Hrgović and Petra Balekić we will produce a 30sec trailer based on this poster!

LA FETE (Tulum) story by Andrija Škare, drawing by Stipan Tadić

A short comic I did, based on a story by the Croatian writer Andrija Škare. This is the first time I did a colaboration like this and I think its really succesfull!!! The title is in french and means "Party" or "House Party" because it was originally done for a french zine named Gorgonzola.

The life of Ivan Meštrović illustrations

His birth in Vrpolje, 1883.

Growing up in Otavice

First apprenticeship in Split

Studying in Vienna (falling in love with Ruža Klein,1904.)

First public sculpture in Zagreb - "The Well of Life"

Life in Paris - becoming very famous, 1908.

Back to Otavice

Church of the Holy Crikvine-Kašilac in Split

Starting a family with new wife Olga in Zagreb, 1927./28.-1941.

Staying in Split, 1932.-1941.

Imprisoned in WW2 by the Ustaša, then released and moved to Rome, 1942.-46.

Ending his life in the USA as a professor of sculpture, 1947.

Transcended into eternity from his Mausouleum in Otavice in 1962.

Kako je U2 spasio Balkan (20th anniversary of the concert of U2 in Sarajevo)

This painting is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the U2 concert in Sarajevo. The concert symbolically ended the Balkan wars and started a new era of pop culture and love!

The painting was comissioned and done in collaboration with Marko Mlinarić, my designer friend, from Design agency BETON.
